Auburn Outdoors is a community dedicated to people first, adventure always. We are excited about our journey – leaning into our student team, building out opportunities for members to learn and grow outside, and finding ways to connect to the outdoor resources that call Auburn home.

Climbing Wall
Stop by the climbing wall, located on the lower level of the Recreation and Wellness Center any time the wall is open.
After a quick orientation, members may climb using the auto belays, boulder at the cave and towers, and climb with a top rope skills-verified member belaying.
Use of the climbing wall is free to all members, and no experience is necessary.
Belay Videos
At Auburn's Climbing Wall we require a belay verification test-out prior to renting an ATC to belay. Your belay verification can be conducted anytime the Climbing Wall is open. We use the PBUS method exclusively to belay at the Wall. If you've had experience using the PBUS method, check-out these videos prior to visiting us for your belay verification.
New to climbing and not sure about this whole PBUS thing? Don't sweat it - we host Fundamentals of Climbing workshops regularly during the semester. During these workshops we'll teach you the knots, equipment, and technique required to help you feel prepared to belay at the Climbing Wall.
